If you go to this website:

you can send rice to the hungry around the world. All you do is basically guess what the vocab word means. Each time you get a meaning correct, the program sends a certain amount of rice to people who need it. The more you play, the more you help the hungry. I read about it on some friends blogs and just saw it on the news last week. It is really addicting. Please try it once and I know you will be addicted also.

Boy vs. Girl
Caden has been having a lot of fun with all of his friends here at the house. He is definitely all boy and has become a little more aggressive towards the girls but he can still be sweet and loves to hug and kiss us all. Today I gave him and Hannah popsicles for snack. I thought it was funny how Caden looks while eating his popsicle and how Hannah looks while eating hers. Caden is a mess. Hannah, clean as a whistle.

Busy, busy, busy
It's been a while, I know! We have been so busy. I know that is not an excuse. I am watching 4 little girls and Caden. Jody is still at Chick-Fil-A and taking online classes. He is doing great in his classes. Caden and I are so proud of him. I pray God is teaching you so much about Himself. He is such a good God. In my Bible Study we were discussing how God wants us to seek Him in the mudane day to day life. He wants us to live extra-ordinary lives in the ordinary days. God is working around you just ask Him to reveal where He is working and join in! I know I said we have been busy. I pray that we along with all of you are busy with the things of God. Let's get so busy with God that our ordinary lives are extra ordinary.
Here are a few pictures.

I'm Sorry I Don't Work Here
The other day we got a flyer in the mail promoting a new church. The name escapes me but it wasn’t so much the name that got my attention but the people they quoted on the card. They had two quotes; one by A.W. Tozer and one by G.K. Chesterton, who are both some of the greatest theological minds that have ever lived. As some of you may know, G.K. Chesterton was the man who heavily influenced C.S. Lewis. After reading the card Christa and I went on the internet to check it out. From the outset things looked and seemed great, however, the more we researched we came to realize that this was nothing more than an Emergent Church. Some of you know what the Emergent Church is but for those of you who don’t they can be summed up in one quote, “they choose discussion over doctrine.” Their methods may be right, but their theology is off.
Several days after researching this church I was in Wal-Mart (and was wearing my shirt and tie that I wear to work every day) and was stopped twice by random customers asking me where things were located. Both times I told them, “I’m sorry I don’t work here.” After I got in the car and was on my way to work it hit me. Why did those people ask me where things were in Wal-Mart? It was because I looked like I was a manager of some sort and they figured I would know where things are. Sadly, I think this is true of our Christian world today. Things may “look right” on the outside but little do we know they are the farthest from the truth. Take the people that asked me where things were in Wal-Mart, I could have attempted to direct them in the right direction but I honestly didn’t know where anything was (if truth be known I myself was trying to find things). The same holds true for the Christian today. Many things can attempt to lead you in the right direction but they themselves don’t truly know the truth (because in all honestly they too are trying to find it).
Romans 16:17 and 18 talks about how it is important to be grounded in the Truth so we can discern between Truth and heresy. As time moves on the lines between truth and heresy are getting foggier and foggier. Now, more than ever, is a time when we truly need to dig into God’s word and truly KNOW the Truth. Don’t be miss led by someone one who “looks” like the Truth when they really aren’t. Remember, the devil comes as an angel of light…

Life is Like a Parking Lot
The other day my son (Caden) and I were going to the store. As we got out of the van I made sure he held my hand. Caden is at the age where he is beginning to understand independence (he likes to do things on his own). Me being a young father I understand this but at the same time (and I think you would agree) the parking lot is not the place for him to explore his independence. So since I am somewhat of an intelligent father I made sure he held my hand as we walked from the van into the store.
As we walked I began to notice all the dangers that a parking lot would create for someone who is not quite 2 years old. It was at that moment I realized that life and my relationship with God is a lot like that parking lot. Take Caden for example, he has no idea where he is going, why he is in the parking lot in the first place, and what dangers are present. Now take me for example, I know where we are going, why we are in the parking lot, and where the danger lies and how to keep him from it. The same picture holds true with life. Life is the parking lot, I am Caden, and God is me (ok I know that sounds weird but I think you get what I am saying). In life a lot of times I have no idea why I am here, where I am going, and where danger lies. Just like Caden needs me to guide him, I too need God to guide me. However, there is a crucial element that I am leaving out. Trust. Why does Caden gladly take my hand and does not fear? Because he trusts me. How does he have that trust with me? Because I am his father and he has a relationship with me. This in turn gives him the belief that I am going to protect him, lead him, and have his best interest in mind.
Too many times I find myself lost in the parking lot almost getting hit by cars, but why? It’s because one, I don’t truly trust God because two, I don’t have a strong relationship with Him to know that what He is doing and where He is taking me is for my own good. Jesus said that if we want to gain life we have to lose it. The apostle John said, “He must increase, I must decrease.” I pray that my heart can let go of what it thinks is life so I can truly live.
